2024 KRICT ChemDX Hackathon: Colaboratory
We are pleased to announce the upcoming "2024 KRICT ChemDX Hackathon: Colaboratory", an international event hosted by the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) with the support of the Chemical Data-driven Research Center. The program will promote the development of innovative technologies using the ChemDX chemical database developed by the Chemical Data-Based Research Center.
The event will occur on the following date and at the venue.

Eligibility:
Researchers in the fields of chemistry, physics, and materials (graduate students and postdoctoral researchers) who possess intermediate or higher programming skills related to AI and data are encouraged to participate.
Theme
Development of technologies utilizing the ChemDX chemical database of the Chemical Data-Based Research Center.
Objective
The hackathon aims to promote the development of data utilization technologies and foster the ecosystem for material data usage by leveraging the ChemDX database from the Chemical Data-Based Research Center. This initiative is part of the broader effort to establish a material research data ecosystem platform.

- Total Prize Pool: 5,000,000 KRW
- Recognition: Awards presented by the Director of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT)
Expected Outcomes
- Promote data sharing for materials research.
- Empower early-career researchers (graduate students and postdoctoral fellows) with data utilization skills.
- Advance database functionality, making it easier to integrate AI technology with existing resources.
Evaluation Criteria

Presentation of Developed Solutions:
- A qualitative evaluation based on creativity, relevance, and the overall excellence of the development efforts by a panel of three judges.
Post-Hackathon Opportunities
- Results from the hackathon may be published in major journal proceedings, with coordination between participants and organizers.
- Proposed or developed functionalities may be directly integrated into the ChemDX platform.
